Club email - primary position on ST waiting list

Just got an email from the club saying that I am now in a primary position on the ST waiting list. Tickets obviously not selling well.

Tough one mate as with a young family wont make a lot of the games but would be good to take my son though he is only 3!

Buzzy there are ALWAYS tickets available, fucking loads, you don’t need an ST to go there.

Got one as well. It's all bollocks, asks you what band you want, all the cheap ones will renew, more expensive tickets will be offered, which is all good if you have got money to throw away watching dogshite every other week. I won't be taking their offer up. I'll do what Johnson says or get one when the c**** sell up.

PR machine going into overdrive. Getting the word out that if you don't renew we will give your ticket to loads queuing up. Club threats who would have thought they would stoop so low.. oh wait they did this last year....zzzzzzz

You applied in Week 40 of the current year
It was day 4 of that week
Your application went through just after 7 attempts
Yours was the 4th successful application that day.

I got the email asking where I'd prefer to be if I get my chance, bearing in mind they were already reporting 50,000 already waiting when I signed up on the list a year and a half ago.

I didn't bother responding.

As Johnson said, a membership is enough, as there are always loads available. I used to go online the minute tickets became available to members, and I'd always find some in the STB lower, and loads in the upper tiers. Lately I just gamble by waiting until a few days until kick off, then I've always found loads all over the best bits of the lower tiers on ticket trader.

I rang them mate and asked if they were going to let us know where we were on the list and she looked it up for me and told me
I reckon i will soon get one in 8 years time based on a drop out of 4000 supporters per year

I've heard quite a few mention that they get mails saying they are on the waiting list even though they already have their season tickets.

I'm not convinced there really are so many truly waiting for a ST, and many of those who are on the list won't take up the offer when it's actually offered.

Lily yes mate I am as cynical as anybody and i reckon you could shave maybe 5-10 thousand off of that, after all the moves renewals etc I will ring up again and see what the score is.

Wouldn't surprise me if the number on the "season ticket waiting list" also included season ticket holders who haven't renewed.

Keep the number high, create a demand and rush people into buying.

Yes I've got an email too. Thanking me for being on the waiting list and explaining the position regarding seats.

I left England 11 years ago and kept up my membership for occasional home and away games when I could get to England but let that lapse two years ago!

I never asked to go on any waiting list. I was put there as I was once a member. That's not a real waiting list.

Will be amazed if it is just 4000 fans giving their season ticket up. Out of 10 of us that had an ST last year I think only 2 will be renewing next year.

MATE who up until yesterday was blowing out his 2 ST's has had a rethink.... mainly as he flogged them for £30 each for the Man City game to a couple of mates of his... he know thinks he can just hand pick his games next season and sell the dross off for £30 a pop.... Ha ha Ha... what a nob jockey...

I think gauging general opinion based on either people you know or people on here is probably quite unrepresentative of many people who go now.

I suspect there are thousands of fans out there who never come on here, and perhaps don't really get involved in any West Ham stuff online outside the official stuff, that will be renewing and are either unaware or don't care about the sort of detailed agonising that goes on on here.
